Terra Ambulare (Earth Walk) is a monumental, twenty-three metre, site specific artwork installed along the Cascade Road in South Hobart.

Terra Ambulare speaks of the changing narrative of a place over time, occupation, impermanence, and a reminder that we are all just passing through.

The restrained and moody hues of the painting encapsulate the surrounding vistas of Mount Wellington and meandering waterways of the local Derwent River and D'Entrecasteaux Channel. It serves as backdrop to a cast of silhouetted characters that represent South Hobart's rich and somewhat turbulent history.

It was commissioned by Sustainable Living Tasmania with project funding from the Hobart City Council and the Tasmanian Community Development Fund.
